A Spirit 1.0 Plus can go 22 miles.
When people consider Spirit 1.0 Plus, it's very common to have range anxiety before going electric for the first time. They don’t know how long a Spirit 1.0 Plus can go. Let me tell you the answer: you could travel 22 miles (35 km) with one Spirit 1.0 Plus battery. The purpose of this blog is to help you understand the range of Spirit 1.0 series in reality and the economical speed.
Here’s a speed vs range chart below. The data was collected in a real-world test on Lake Balaton, which is the largest lake in Hungary.

Spirit 1.0 Plus has a 1276Wh integrated battery. At full throttle 1000 Watts, you get 6.2 mph and 75-min runtime. The range is 7 miles. If you reduce your throttle to 25%, which is 250 Watts, you will get 4.4 mph. Let’s say you travel 2 miles, 30% slower, it means you arrive only 8 min later than the full-throttle speed. Giving you extra time to enjoy the silence of your Spirit motor and relax, Being 8 min later won’t ruin your life, and your range is greatly increased. Now you could go 22 miles, which is a 214% increase in range compared to full throttle. In short, you sacrifice 30% in speed but you get 214% more range.

The actual speed-range curve varies between different boats, load, water conditions and etc, but the logic behind is the same: Go a little bit slower, avoid full throttle, and you could travel much further. We cannot tell you a specific throttle percentage for the best economical speed, but you could do some tests in your first couple of rides and figure out a throttle percentage that gives a comfortable speed and economical energy consumption.
22 miles is a quite practical range. Most of the time, one battery can satisfy your needs. No worry about runtime.

Do you need more than 22 miles range? Here are some options below to extend the range:
- Use solar charging: It’s quite helpful when your boat has a bimini top. The solar charging works when Spirit 1.0 Plus is operating. You don’t have to stop your Spirit in order to use solar charging. The Spirit solar charger allows up to 180W.
- Buy a spare battery: This is the simplest way if your budget allows. The spare battery normally costs half the Spirit 1.0 Plus price. For the actual price, you could talk to a local dealer.
- Use an external battery: Spirit 1.0 Plus works with our original E-Series LFP batteries. An E80 battery powers a Spirit 1.0 Plus at full throttle for continuous 4 hours. You sacrifice the portability but you will be worry-free for range in return.

We hope this blog helps you understand the range of Spirit 1.0 Plus. If you have any questions, contact a local dealer or reach us on our official Facebook page.
